So many Welsh Republicans are now attending Rali Cilmeri, that are of the old but not dead yet 'Gob Real Retro Republicans' as well you know who I am talking about the potentially new 'Good Ole Boys'.They are all in ''Republican/Socialist Republican'' mode now! However, as amazing as it seems all the way back from Cayo Cilmeri to present day, the Cilmeri Cenotaph and Rali Cilmeri has always been an annual central gathering place for ''Welsh Republicans'', revisionist Welsh Republican started all this as Harri Web. Toni Lewis and I as Patriotic Fronters hit on to it there after, not as in particular a Welsh Republican identification, then I was not too bothered with the history of the Princes of Gwynedd either. Our purpose was just to use the annual Cilmeri Cenotaph as a platform for Radical Nationalism and against the fourthcoming Investiture of an English Prince of Wales, full stop!
That's what we did from conception of the Rali up to 1968 which was the Cilmeri Rally where we really went for it in our Anti - Investiture opposition and, a few months later nine of us got arrested and slung in Jail. Most others who went to the annual Cilmeri Rally became 'marked men' watched over and, regularly followed hence thereafter. Their Anti - Investiture Activity became curtailed and on the big 'I - Day' many were put under a special kind of 'House Arrest'. Being watched and followed so blatantly they could hardly move out of the house for 24 hours and if they did they all had up to two S.S, Goons on their tails quite opnely. I think this is what worries most patriots who as brave as they may wish to appear are actually scared shitless about the cops crashing down their front door, as happened to myself more than thrice over last 45 years. But there it goes with the territory you know, if you cannot take the heat of the kitchen what you cooking up such a Patriotic Stew for?
I guess that's what worries a number of Cilmeri 'Attendies' in these times, even those who pose and posture so called 'Welsh Republicanism'. Passive Petitions are alright and shouting out after a few pints 'Down with The English Crown' might go down well and look impressive but we will not see too many calling for radical action against the English Crown on the Cilmeri Cenotaph these days as was done in the 'sixties'. Calls for action which were backed up by action on the streets of Cardiff and elsewhere, even those I slag off as 'Gobs' were once men of action. Today sadly as 'Old Comrades' they are not exactly giving the right leader ship as Coslett did untill the days shortly before his death, though Denis then was more into actually handing out medals and writting poetry, good poetry too! rather than campaigning very hard.
It's quite amazing really, to have seen down the years so many ''Welsh Republicans'', Socialist Republicans inc those of Cymru Goch I & II, also WSRM members, not Robert Griffiths though he took his 'Socialist Republicanism' very seriously! Though interestingly Ray Davies and the Red Chior don't seem to do so, turning up to sing radical songs before a cenotaph to a Prince and a 'Gog' one at that? Now we got another lot of recently converted 'Socialist Republicans', those of Adam Phillip's Balchder Cymru who after parading about at Frongoch, Abergele and Tryweryn might be encouraged to turn up at Rali Cilmeri with their Irish Socialist Republican allies from the Wirral and Liverpool. Yes! it's all getting a bit superficial to say the least with no real radical Nationalist or Republican Purpose to it all unless the Rally is turned totally into a true commemoration and celebration of Welsh Republicanism but how does one do that, simple as follows.
Now lets face facts, the Welsh Republican sentiments expressed at Cilmeri and indeed the whole concept behind 'Cilmeri's Republicanism', is rather more the 'Pint Pot Patriotism' type of banter from people who do not have much of a political idea in their head. This 'Welsh Republicanism' is in reality Radical or Militant Nationalism with a lot of Reformist and Moderate Career Nationalists milling around. You do not see ever, many 'Cultural Nationalists' around, as they live in the 'Real World' as a member of CyIG once told the Western Mail, by that he meant of course they were too busy looking after themselves, chasing grant funded gravy trains and nice cushy well paid 'Welsh Language Industry' jobs. Now can you for a moment clear the 'Celtic Mist' out of your eyes and understand why I keep saying do not be CRACH FODDER! Why such intelligent Politically shrewd Patriots as Owen Williams and John Jenkins also Gareth ap Sion and Gareth Westacott are not telling you the same for the life of me, I do not know! But then it appears the latter two, latter day Welsh Republicans have become rather 'Revisionist Republicans' supporting the right wing nationalism of HJD, the likes of Clive Betts and Meic Stephens and other 'Cambrianista Cronies'.
Whatever, if that's what you think most of you are 'Welsh Republicans' why not make of the annual Cilmeri Commemoration a true Welsh Republican Rally on basis of what truth Dafydd y Dug eventually came to understand and never bothered to attend again. He upset many 'Nationalists' but he was possibly speaking a greater truth when he pondered out loud from the Cilmeri Cenotaph as to why we were there commemorating Welsh Royalty? Who for starters once the English got rid of, the way was far more clear for Owain Glyndwr to rise up a National Struggle for National Liberation and an Independence far more clear to us than the Monarchy Llywelyn III stood for. The truth of the matter is that even if Gwynedd had survived 1282, it was a 'failing state' economically and certainly it's own 'civil servants' knew that and so too did many of the older traditional chiefs, all of whom conspired against Llywelyn ap Gruffydd.
All of whom were ready to 'Sell Out'' and many did to Edward I, many being involved in the 'Conspiracy in the Belfry of Bangor' that played a part in the assassination of Llywelyn III and collaborated in the creation of a Quisling 'Vichy Style' territory of Gwynedd/Pura Wallia post 1284. There would have any way only been one way out of all this for Llywelyn III or his Heirs/Heiresses and that would have been marry into the Anglo - Norman familes of Marcher Wallia. That in time would have led to 'Normanization' of Welsh Law and Custom, the creation of borough towns in Pura Wallia and with that English Traders, settlers and their familes. Slowly but surely 'Anglicisation and Acculturalisation' would have followed and possibly very fast, how 13th centuray famines and plaques would have figured in all this is another matter but it would have made some contribution no doubt.
The point is that has it did not happen that way it paved the way for Owain Glyndwr and yes an 'Armed Rebellion' that failed but did we not win the peace perhaps, think about it! Whatever, a much better 'Nationalist Legacy' was left to Patriotic Posterity as otherwise I doubt if, even Llywelyn III had won in 1282 that the rest of Cymru/Wales would have put up with the rule of Gwynedd, our 'Prussia'. So, what am I heretically suggesting here, is something really radical and inconclastic! Why not annually attend Rali Cilmeri to commemorate the downfall of Welsh Royalty, I mean come on guys if your as 'Welsh Republican' as your say you are, if such 'Welsh Royalty' had survived to the 18th Century would you not have been having a 'Welsh Revolution' and chopping the heads of the Welsh Royal familes and freinds with a Guilotine set up outside the Palace of Aberffraw? Well that's one way to deal with the kind of oddity of all you ''Welsh Republicans'' who annually attend Rali Cilmeri, yes?
Then the way is really clear for you not to have the day clouded with a lot of useless nationalist stuff spouted but you real radical 'Welsh Socialist Republicans' can get down to using it again as in the 'Sixties' as a platform against the English Crown. Remember now, the next Investiture is not so far away, after all Liz II could not make India this year, why have a stuck William on Ynys Mon for three years? Plus just why is Carlo in Wales so often and why is he courting all those rural Pobl Pura Wallia? Not least the 'Celebs Cymru' who cannot wait to get into Caernarfon Castle at another Investiture to showcase themselves to the world. I tell you this much the next Investiture is going to be an hard one to tackle, so I guess you better start thinking how it will be done, who will lead the campaign and who will be activelly stepping up for some leadership and action . Not me! that's for sure, if I am still alive I shall sit it out and watch, to see if any of you 'Balchder Boyos' and 'Hayes Honchos' are in sight? I really do not relish what you will have to pull off to replace tough action with tough noise, glad I am not you!
I am not going back to Rali Cilmeri, I have committed to Inter - National Socialism and some Welsh 'Crach War' as way forward, even 'Welsh Republicnism is too 'reformist'. Here guys in this blog are plenty of pro - active Welsh Republican Ideas for you to use up over coming five years or is the plan just to parade about dressed as 'Scots' or whatever? For a long time I believed and worked on Cofiwn lines that Cilmeri Commemoration served an historical Cymric Consciousness Campaigning strugge, so it did for a while as the 1982 great commemoration became a year later the great Anti - Sarhad Struggle but not any more. All this is now in the hands of WAG, the Plaid Reformist Business Crachach Minister of Heritage aka 'Welsh Language Industry' sleeper, Alun Ffred Jones plus the Heritage/Archaelogical Establishment and not least 'Y Crachach' all of whom will nuetralise, sanitise and censor Welsh History to suit their 'Vichy Version' of Welshv History for sake of tourism and the 'Grant Grabbing' Arts/Cultural Establishment.
So if you want to continue in radical struggle then stick with radical history to use history for political reasons, use hence Welsh Radical Socialist History as at Red Remembrancer and Adfywiad Goch blogs:

As for 1282 use it as Year Zero and as for Rali Cilmeri make of it a Welsh Republican Rally, so take plenty of Welsh Republican flags hence. Not least remember for true radical Welsh Republicans there can only be one road to follow from there and, that is to Caernarfon annually hence between 1 - 13 July? Though of course, Frongoch is a good rallying space too, but not Tryweryn or Abergele, these should not be Welsh Republican Rallies for obvious reasons that they are part and parcel of a clear nationalist history. For Welsh Republicans to use would be a most grotesque opportunist abuse, if you really want to rally at reservoirs go to the Elan Valley for plenty of good reasons, not least fourth coming anniversary of 1953 and Liz II opening Claerwern Reservoir.
Lets just see how quick the latest lot of Welsh Republicans, Socialist or otherwise are to really engage! a warning lads at Rali Cilmeri look around you and see how many of the former 'Welsh Republicans' are still around, I mean of the the WSR II and WSRM and not least Plaid's Reformist Republicans and ready for some real Welsh Republican Action as RAM - ing it to the English Royals. However, to be fair they are 'getting on a bit' like I and, after all most of them have given it their best shot, not all but a few. So, really it is over to you lot, the 'Young Republicans' wonder if we are going to see if you got what it takes? I do not mean Political Violance as the, what did Martin McGuinness call them ''Conflict Junkies'', that's good! really rich coming from him but in this case he's right. No I just mean simple stuff as poster campaigns or a bit of radical Agit - Prop Poster Campaigns, Protesting with Placards, you know maybe a few Demonstrations. Something beyond face book?
Last but not least, you really should not listen to poets and their sentimental poetry that fills their pockets well, keep that firmly in mind before you weep too many tears regards the passing away of Welsh Kings, Princes and Chiefs. They are only useful now, if you wake up, wise up and use to some lucrative advantage of people and community as internal and external tourism Initiatives, if you had really been concerned you would have been crawling all over Cadw by now? Princes are for History and Tourism, it's the Peoples history of popular protest and struggle that counts hence, not least the years ahead. The history of princes has nothing to tell us but the history of the common folk in struggle against Tyrrany and Oppression, Exploitation and Expropriation does. LAND & LIBERTY!
