Whatever, as with the Cambria Magazine Dydd Dewi Sant, this Dublin Celt Fest is again another distraction and diversion from some real Welsh Nationalist Struggle but then, there is no struggle is there? What one may percieve as Nationalist as Plaid Cymru and some of it's members is for the most part a Cultural Business/Nationalist Front largelly serving the interests of the Welsh Language Industry and associated members of an elitist establishment and Intelligencia. There are some 'left wing' hangers on who feel they can better advance their political careers via Plaid Cymru rather than the Labour Party but they are usually tainted with a petite bourgeoisie culturalist pacifism. As for Alternative Welsh Nationalism that no longer exists other in the form of a dead zone of 'Sixties Zombies' and 'Facebook Fantasists'. All of whom are the sort along with for the most part pretty well heeled teachers and those of a folksy sort who love playing at being 'Republican' away from home but otherwise stay well out of trouble at home. The sort big on the Dubliners and Wolf Tones, the music not the Revolt of 1798, that is no not for them. Can find nothing about the aforementioned Celtfest in Dublin but if you really want a Great Escape, I mean really make a Great Escape, why not do the Celt Fest Cuba trip, possibly cheaper than a 'Drip Trip' to Dublin.

I do not think anything I might say will change the mind of this crew but then the Great Escape Celtfest for 29 April is not really aimed at this 'shifty sort' but more so those with at least radical pretentions and so this Celtfest is pitched as the Great Escape Guranteed 'Royal Wedding - Free' Weekend in the Republic of Ireland. Somehow, I think not so free of the Royal Wedding, not in Dublin. The Ireland of today that watches Coronation Street loves Royal Weddings as much as do Americans, so it will be everywhere even in Ireland and not least Dublin. I myself when this Royal Wedding was announced thought why not promote a mass Republican/Nationalist exodus to Ireland to visit the National 1798 Centre but then thought no! Keep that to visit in February in association with the 22 February 1796 Commemoration as it allows for good comparative study, not least as to why Wales in 1797 did not have a revolt but Ireland did in 1798? Quite simply because basically Wales then was full of politically 'Nationalist' challenged as those of Plaid and Plant Crachach were in 1969 and still are today.

Seriously, I will tell you why, it's simple really the Irish did not get bogged down by a Brit Protestant Reformation and Cultural Nationalism, not least Irish Cultural Nationalists were hard case Political Republicans. Further, Irish Republicanism is for real not what as become a joke of 'Garibaldians' at their annual Cilmeri piss up! Not least the Irish have been persistantly active anti - English Royality not least in organising protests and Demonstrations against the English Crown in their Country. The amazing thing is that this Great Escape is being touted as some kind of Nationalist Response but it's on the whole a money making capitalist venture to the profit of who? For sure not in the interest of Welsh Patriotic struggle, in fact this so called Great Escape is in fact organising a Great Escape for the Anglo - Welsh Royalists in Wales. For the so called Great Escape to me, other than a money making venture on back of Patriotism seeks to get those who may be Anti - Royal Wedding 'Trouble Makers' out of the way for a while. So boycott the Dublin Celtfest Great Escape and instead do something that makes a stand, an act of Welsh Resistence against the English Crown in Wales not Ireland.
Now think about it? For starters this Great Escape will cost you individually £249 that's just for starters as three days in Dublin add a couple more £100, yes? So why are Welsh Patriots putting good money into a failing 'Tiger Ratted' economy when our own Welsh decling 'Dragon Ratted' economy could do with that kind of money? On the 29th April really you should be considering organising Nationalist/Republican events, more worthy of spending that £249 plus money on here in Wales. As example, why not organise Nationalist/Republican outings to Welsh Historic Sites for family and others in your local community who also want to avoid the Royal Wedding. In 1977 Cofiwn organised outing to Mynydd Bach, WSRM a Soicialist Fest in Pontypridd and Cayo and Co an event at Glandenys. So far in Ysbryd Cofiwn I will be pulling off an history protest patriotic pass time, I have no doubt that Welsh Socialists are and will be quite capable of organising Socialist Peoples Parties in the Park (* see at end) also there will be a 'Rebels Rally' at the Cilmeri Centotaph, at least the idea is muted on the grapevine. So, there is plenty you can do in Wales that will be Patriotically positive and make a Patriotic Point other than fill bellies with what fools believe are Patriotic Pints.
